"Liberty Leading the People" (La Liberté guidant le peuple), created by the French painter Eugène Delacroix in 1830 and housed at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The work commemorates the Parisian revolution of the "Three Glorious Days" of July 1830 against Charles X.
Portrait of a Young Woman (Simonetta Vespucci as a Nymph), a celebrated Renaissance painting executed around 1480–1485 by Sandro Botticelli and preserved at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt. The work depicts a young woman in profile with reddish-blond hair gathered in elaborate hairstyles braided with pearls and ribbons. Around her neck she wears a precious necklace with a pendant cameo reproducing the Seal of Nero, a famous gem that belonged to Lorenzo the Magnificent. The painting is considered an idealized portrait and a celebration of 15th-century Florentine beauty.
